Rebecca Chapman is the primary flute instructor at Utah Valley University and plays with the Ballet West Orchestra and Alpine Chamber Winds. A frequent studio artist, she has recorded flute tracks for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Newsies, Oliver!, and many others.
Chapman is the national prize-winner of the 2014 Estelle Campbell Award for the NSAL Competition and the Judges Commendation Award for the Classics Alive Young Artists Competition. She is currently under management as a soloist for Classics Alive Artists, and has performed in France, Japan, Germany, and across the United States. This summer, Chapman will teach in Bavaria, Germany, as the flute faculty member for the Interharmony International Music Festival.
Chapman maintains an active private studio in UT county. Her students have been awarded first chair in All-State Bands, received collegiate music scholarships, and have won first prizes in the UFA High School Scholarship, Goodfellow Sonata, UVS Concerto, Lyceum Philharmonic Concerto, and MTNA State competitions.
Chapman received her BM from Carnegie Mellon University studying with Jeanne Baxtresser, and her MM from UT Austin, under the tutelage of Marianne Gedigian. Additional teachers include Alberto Almarza, Cynthia Man, and Carol Wincenc.
